Dr. Cheryl A. Welch
About Our Founder
Franklin Lakes Animal Hospital was started by Dr. Cheryl Ann Welch in 1996 at its current location. A native of Ringwood and later a resident of Franklin Lakes, Welch graduated from Ramapo High School in 1983. She went to Cornell University before earning a doctorate in veterinary medicine from the University of Pennsylvania in 1990.
Dr. Welch was a dynamic woman, a lover of life, a great mom, a good friend to many, a mentor, and an incredibly skilled veterinarian.
She became ill in December of 2010 and died two months later of pancreatic cancer. She is still missed by many. Donations in her name can be made to the Lustgarten Foundation (www.lustgarten.org).
